HISTORY:
Rotten Collective started as an auto, art, and culture cooperative of artists exploring and capturing the world around them. Each journey bringing more inspiration and a push to create. Adventure drives our creativity. Exploring old warehouses and decaying architecture often followed car events and pop up shows. Our love for the culture and arts seems to show no bounds. With backgrounds in design, photography, automotive and street art we decided to push our passions onto products.
Streetwear has always been on our minds, but we wanted an organic feel to blend well with our love for adventure. Streetwear encompasses elements of hip-hop fashion, modern high fashion and haute couture. Our lust for graffiti, hip-hop, fine arts, and street culture overlaps these in a unique way. With our attention to detail, unique ideas, and design innovations we found our urban wear to be the perfect mash of street culture and outdoor ideology.
We live our life by the slogan, “Explore more, fear less.” Not only can this be applied to a physical sense, but also the intellectual connotation of exploring the mind and body and fearing nothing. Living with this motto in mind, each day becomes a push to be better. A new day is a new opportunity to truly discover as much as possible with all senses. Fear is no option.

MEANING:
Rotten is word whose connotation ensues decay. The informal meaning of rotten means “to an extreme degree or very much.” We like to think that with our quality of work we can sway the normalcy of the meaning. Our goal is to always produce a product with quality to an extreme degree. When you think of the word rotten, the first thing to come to mind is a fly. The main iconography affiliated with the word rotten is decay and flies. It seemed obvious to make our icon an insect! Normally a fly would not be our first choice, but there is so much to the insect that we didn’t know. Its resilience and determination to survive caught our eye.
“Flies have survived for millennia because of their ability to adapt to the environment.” Flies are natural survivors. They have a diverse way of living; both as immatures and as adults. Much like the fly, Rotten also adapts to the environment in any aspect. Quality concepts, knowledge, research, and self-exploration can combat all forces. Our goal is to adapt to each situation faced and come out on top, just like the common fly!
